I made this gift card holder this morning for my daughter's preschool teachers. They do so much for the little ones. :-) Dimensions - the paper is 11" x 31/2" then scored at 2" and at 61/2". The idea came from Joy's and Kim's gift cards holders.

Angels on earth
I think God has sent some angels on earth to make our life richer, don't you agree? I just receive a bag full of presents from Sande for our children. She is constantly showering our children with such thoughtful gifts. Thanks Sande. I made an Angel thank you card for you. I hope you like it.
Elena and Kim, thanks for the blog candy. I know it's late but your thank you card and an angel notebook is coming your way. Hopefully, I can send them to you before this weekend. Thanks for lovely candies.

My new cutting machine & need your advice
My QuicKutz Silhouette arrived this weekend. I just tried it out and I love it. I am thinking this just might replace my cricket. I love the fact that I can connect it to the computer to manipulate its size and shapes.
BTW, I need your advice. If anyone is reading this post, can you leave me a comment regarding a good color printer for digital scrapbooking. This means the color ink has to be reasonably priced. I am willing to pay a higher price for the printer if it will save me money on the ink in the long run. Thanks.

Christmas Cards
I had some time today (while kids were asleep) to make cards out of the stamp images I colored (posted couple of posts ago). Lynette, I will bring one of the cards for you at our next stampin' up party. Thanks for the cute Christmas stamp.

Gift Card holder and some colored images
Here is a gift card holder I made tonight. I could not find the Designer paper to go in the background so it looks quite plain. Tutorial for this is on Joy's blog.
CS is cut to 8 1/2" x 4 1/2"; scored at half way 4 1/4" to fold it in half then scored at 3" long way to make the flap for the gift card slot. Brad is used to hold up the flap. I really need some "blue tone" DSP.
Next is an image I colored using Marvy markers. I do not have copics like many of you out there but still wanted to color some images after being inspired by so many people coloring their images. The stamp is from Lynette who was giving away lots of stamps at our last stampin' up party. Mahalo Lynette.

Quilt Card Tutorial + Elena's Butterfly
Here is the tutorial for the Quilt Card. I am using a crochet butterfly I won from Elena's Bearsaurus blog. If you've never checked out her blog before, you just must. She is incredibly talented.
1. Cut a piece of CS paper to 5" x 5". You can use a left over CS. I did. Remember, you will not see this paper so you can pick any color you like.
3. Assemble the small squares. After you've found the layout(quilt) you like, paste them down with glue stick.

2. Using a 1 1/4" square punch, punch out DP and card stock papers of coordinated colors from your scrap pile. I used my Sizzix Texturz plates to give my CS more character.

One more from Helen
Helen brought us more goodies this Saturday- a favor that slides to reveal a pack of gum. I love it! Thanks Helen.
Stampin Up Party - 08/08/09
It was so much fun this Saturday. Lynette, thanks for all the goodies and yummies. Lynette showed us how to make a favor using two rolled up wash clothes (from Walmart). Simply roll up two wash clothes; wrap it in clear cellophane; then wrap it in crimpered paper; tie a bow; and finally put a small flower on top. Isn't it just darling? You can add a small note under the bow regarding the event. Great idea for all kinds of parties.
Jackie was the demonstrator for the party. She showed us how to make the two cards below. They are both so cute and simple to make. The first card used a quilt effect and the second one, glitter. I usually do not like to work with glitter but it wasnt' as messy as I expected.Thursday, August 6, 2009

I thought it was really neat that you can unmount your stamps. Robyn gives a tutorial on how to unmount your Stampin' Up stamps. I think I am going unmount all my stamps when I can find the time. Check out her video episode #4. For link, click on the pink stamper icon in the previous blog.
