Simple gifts

Here are couple of things I gave out this year.  I saw these cute candy towers at Walmart (only $3).  I took the candy that was in there and swapped it with my favorites (coffee candy, peppermint candy and some chocolate filled marshmallows) then made a simple tag to go along with the candy (I actually had snowman tags for snowman towers but just ran out).    It's hard to see but I added liquid glass to the beak and the feet.

Second one are mini composition books I made for Devynn and Kiley.  I hope they like them.

Pizza Box with a window tutorial

Pizza box with a window for my notepad/pen set.  It only took one 81/2"x11" and it was so quick.

1.  Score 81/2"x11" CS at 1", 5", 6", and 10" then 1" each on the other sides.

2.  Cut slits as shown.

3.  Score 1/2 from the sides of one of the big rectangles.

4.  Cut the scored lines to make the window

5.  Attach a transparency of 6 1/2" x 4" to the open window.

6.  Place your gift and place a ribbon.

Pizza box for notepad/pen set

Ok. I had to make a lot of boxes for the notepads and had to figure out a way to do it fast (and simple).  I made a pizza box out of 8.5" x 11" cardstock papers.  Score at 1", 5", 6", and 10" then turn the paper to score 1" on two sides of the other side.  Super simple and super fast.  Lastly cut out a window and add the transparency.  I just scored 1/2" from the edge all around then cut it with a xacto knife.  Last a red ribbon bow.  Voila, I am done.  I am so happy I've found a real quick way to do this.

Quick Gift Post it Note holder/pen set

Quick gifts I made as I was making the notepads. The little muffin girl is from Marissa who was my OCS partner for September.  I used a small acrylic picture frame to place small square post-its.

Box for notepad and pen set

I tried to package the notepad and the pen set in a plastic bag but it did not look very good so I decided to make a gift box.  I made the cover and the box the same size and found that (of course) it was a little snug.   I will try again this week.  For the dimensions for making a box (desktop organizer), check out Brenda's blog - sweet as a gumdrop.

small notepad with a matching pen

So I made more notepads and matching pens (Pentel RSVP).  It was really very fast.  I made enough to give away as Christmas presents to some of my colleagues.

Mini "Clip Board" with rectagular coaster

I saw this pretty mini "clip board" from Kim's blog last Christmas and have been wanting to try them out for awhile.  I think it came out really cute.  BTW, Jeannie this is what I did with the rectangular coasters.  Thank you.  I think I will make a matching pen and give them away as Christmas gifts.  Oh, yes, I need to start on that.

Happy Halloween! - Halloween Goodie bags

I made a few Halloween goodie bags for other children at my son's sitter's.  I filled each bag with a bag of veggie chip, chocolate milk, soda crackers, and fruit roll up.  For my daughter, I made a small goodie bag (clear plastic) with a Halloween tag and filled it with a juice pouch and a rainbow goldfish for her preschool friends.  No pix, however.  BTW, I absolutely love "old olive" and " pumpkin pie."  Don't you?

Here are a few of the Halloween craft my daughter received from her friends at her preschool.  One of the mothers must be a crafter. Look at all these!

Stampin Up Party - 10/17/09

I was so busy last Saturday that JoAnn O. had to make my cards while I went to drop my mom off at the airport. Aren't the cards so darling? I love them. We also made flowers out of scallop punch and pixie stick (scallop was the flower and the pixie stick was the stem). I thought that was very clever especially for a little girl's birthday parties. Kim also gave us bunch of embossed cards. They are super pretty. I think I will use one of them for my OCS. I know I am super late. I thought I would get it done last weekend but it is taking me another week. Thank goodness we have until the end of this month.

Here is a little gift from Diane O. She just joined us this year and look what she is creating already. It's a little slider. There is a small tin filled with candy hiding behind the wrapper. So cute... :-)

Jeepers Creepers Hybrid Kit by Jen Tapler

Have you checked out the Sweet Shoppe Designs yet? Jen Tapler teamed up with Libby Weifenbach to create a Jeepers Creepers Hybrid printable kit. I purchased and printed just one of the many projects. It was my first digital/hybrid project and guess what? It was really easy. Don't you love the colors? Thanks Jen for such a beautiful kit.

Stampin Up Party - 09/12/09

It was a big crowd last Saturday at our Stampin' Up Party. It was so good to see some familiar faces though. Here are some of the project we completed. I am beginning to really like those treat cups from Stampin' up. I love those little butterflies in the heart card.

Yes, Halloween is just around the corner. Can't believe how fast the year is going by!

Angels on earth

I think God has sent some angels on earth to make our life richer, don't you agree? I just receive a bag full of presents from Sande for our children. She is constantly showering our children with such thoughtful gifts. Thanks Sande. I made an Angel thank you card for you. I hope you like it.

Elena and Kim, thanks for the blog candy. I know it's late but your thank you card and an angel notebook is coming your way. Hopefully, I can send them to you before this weekend. Thanks for lovely candies.

Gift Card holder and some colored images

Here is a gift card holder I made tonight. I could not find the Designer paper to go in the background so it looks quite plain. Tutorial for this is on Joy's blog.

CS is cut to 8 1/2" x 4 1/2"; scored at half way 4 1/4" to fold it in half then scored at 3" long way to make the flap for the gift card slot. Brad is used to hold up the flap. I really need some "blue tone" DSP.

Next is an image I colored using Marvy markers. I do not have copics like many of you out there but still wanted to color some images after being inspired by so many people coloring their images. The stamp is from Lynette who was giving away lots of stamps at our last stampin' up party. Mahalo Lynette.

One more from Helen

Helen brought us more goodies this Saturday- a favor that slides to reveal a pack of gum. I love it! Thanks Helen.

Stampin Up Party - 08/08/09

It was so much fun this Saturday. Lynette, thanks for all the goodies and yummies. Lynette showed us how to make a favor using two rolled up wash clothes (from Walmart). Simply roll up two wash clothes; wrap it in clear cellophane; then wrap it in crimpered paper; tie a bow; and finally put a small flower on top. Isn't it just darling? You can add a small note under the bow regarding the event. Great idea for all kinds of parties.

Jackie was the demonstrator for the party. She showed us how to make the two cards below. They are both so cute and simple to make. The first card used a quilt effect and the second one, glitter. I usually do not like to work with glitter but it wasnt' as messy as I expected.

I thought the quilting idea was so neat that I came home and did a quick one using my scraps of DP. It was really simple. I will post a tutorial on the next blog. I used a heavy weight cardstock so am going use this one as a card (to write to my daughter's teachers).

Blog Candy from Kim & Favor from Helen

I received an awesome blog candy from Kim a few days ago. I was so excited I could not contain myself. Along with the blog candy, she sent me some awesome cards and gift card holders. I wish you could see all the details. They are so lovely. Go to Kim's blog to check out all her work.

I receive another surprise from Helen at one of our long meetings. Its a little favor/treat holder. She told me the idea came from one of those Ben Franklin shows. Thanks, Helen.
